• Food industry

The food industry consists of companies that process raw materials, such as agricultural products, into foodstuffs on an industrial scale. The food industry is considered to be the largest industry in the Netherlands. The total turnover is about €51 billion in 2010 and it employs an estimated 118,000 people.

Examples of these products include confectionery, types of bread, salty snacks, potato products, sauces, beer and soft drinks.

To prepare, homogenize, cool, sterilize, cut, fill and package all this, there are high-tech machine installations with the latest techniques.

The most common process installations within the food industry are:

    • ovens
    • mixing kettles
    • cutting machines
    • filling machines
    • packaging machines

Although these machines are made of high-quality materials, this sector cannot escape wear and tear.

Plasma Service can in many cases overhaul or counterfeit worn machine parts.

We restore worn bearing surfaces and sealing surfaces. We can also repair sluices, control valves and valve rotors. It is also possible to provide the inside of lock houses with very wear-resistant layers. Of course, the lids are not forgotten. We then grind the rotor to the desired size so that the prescribed clearance between the rotor and the housing remains.

    Machining

We manufacture new parts such as sleeves, drive shafts, pump shafts, bearing plates, gear shafts and many other parts that are subject to wear.

    Surface

For the food industry, we work for both manufacturers and machine builders. We apply, among other things, very wear-resistant layers that have up to 3x the tool life compared to the OEM parts.

    Repair

We also carry out repairs on worn machine parts. We give machines and machine parts a second or even third life. In addition to being faster and cost-effective, this is also better for the environment and the climate.
